Diligent effort to fix a long-standing intermittent problem of air ingestion into the system, requiring daily radiator bleeding. This had stubbornly failed to show itself during the previous annual service, but now seems fixed.

Had a leak in the water cylinder so rang around trying to get someone that could do a same day visit. Spartan managed to do so, communication was great and the engineer solved the problem straight away explaining what he was doing. Very professional all round. Thank you.

Having located Spartan Mechanical ltd via Checkatrade with a request to fix a heating problem with my Airflow Heating system, they were quick to respond and emailed me within 48 hrs with an appointment to attend my home should i accept their service. Since communicating with Spartan i was kept informed of my appointment and even updated that their engineer could attend my home earlier than the appointed time if i was available, which i was. I found the engineer (Mark Thomas) to be very polite and professional and he fixed my problem quickly and efficiently. in addition, the engineer provided excellent advice with regards to my heating system which i found to be very helpful and informative. including the costs to rectify my heating problem, which i found to be reasonable, i consider that my dealings with the engineer and the company to be excellent and would highly recommend their services.

I have called out Spartan to an intermittent hot water issue ( the heating did work fine) with our combi boiler in January. They were prompt and attended at the agreed time.
However while the engineer was out and did make some tests on our boiler it did broke down. So we not just lost our hot water fully , but also our heating in the middle of the winter when possible was the coldest time of the year! I have been told the heat pump broke while the engineer did do his testing, but according to them that has nothing to do with my boiler to break down( which I do not believe, what is the chance your boiler accidentally breaks down just at the time when an engineer works on it …)
And they kindly send me a bill of £270 for braking my boiler, they also quoted the pump to be replaced with the note saying this will not fix my intermittent hot water fault ( then why was it offered , not sure) for around £600 and a quote for a boiler replacement £2800, but of course even if I would decided to replace the boiler they still would add the extra £270 for basically leaving me with a broken boiler.
Of course I have choose another company to fit a new boiler, but I was fighting for my right not to pay the £270, for leaving me with a broken boiler!
However Spartan was adamant if I don’t pay they will go legal.
To keep the peace with my girlfriend I
ended up paying a “massively” discounted price of £205.
But thought I will share my story as according to google, the company has great reviews which lead me to use them which I deeply regret. I definitely do not recommend them and will not used them again.

Spartan Plumbing & Heating Ltd will now be recommended to our domiciliary clients at Catto Homecare. Their polite staff team are extremely honest and go the extra mile. Several of our clients have been using them for a couple of years. Spartan Hearing and Plumbing have provided me with a very professional service from start to finish. They replaced my failing hot water pump for a much better and quieter one.
